Step 1: Create the Nougat Base

  • In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the mini marshmallows and melted butter.

  • Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, pausing to stir every 30 seconds, until the marshmallows are completely melted, puffy, and smooth.

Step 2: Incorporate White Chocolate

  • Immediately add the white chocolate chips to the hot marshmallow mixture.

  • Stir vigorously until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and uniform. If needed, you can return the bowl to the microwave for 15-second bursts to fully melt the chocolate.

Step 3: Add Festive Color

  • Let the mixture cool for 2-3 minutes, then fold in the chopped gumdrops until they are evenly distributed.

Step 4: Set and Slice

  • Press the mixture firmly into a 9×9 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.

  • Let the bars set at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

  • Once set, lift the slab out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into individual bars.
